If you are looking at the various home automation systems for sale,  but you are at a crossroads over which system to install, we are on hand to help! Two of the most popular systems are Crestron and Savant, but what are the pros and cons of each?

Crestron

Crestron is arguably the industry’s most famous pioneers for home automation technology. They have been in business for over half a century, and each year they push the boundaries further. They offer a full range of solutions including video matrices, audio amplifiers – even lighting control.

Each of their solutions is very flexible. For example, the Crestron Lighting Control can make use of hard wired lamps as well as newly installed wireless lamps, and they can all be easily controlled. Because of the modular nature of a Crestron home automation system, it is entirely possible to build and install a system of any size and complexity, and it is easy to make modifications depending on each client’s needs and wants.

What Home Automation System Is Better? Crestron Or Savant?

Savant

Savant are not quite as well known as Crestron, but don’t let their relative inexperience put you off, as they have still been in business for around a decade. Savant systems work very closely with Apple devices, and the user experience we found to be very good.

Savant home automation systems are more ideal for smaller properties such as flats, which don’t require as much customization as Crestron systems. If cost is a factor for you, Savant installations are also cheaper because it is an easier system for installers to program. Their range of products is also wide, as they are able to offer home audio video, lighting control and intercom integration to name but a few. This is a great system to use if you are a big Apple fan!

So, which system should I choose?

Both systems are excellent, and your home will truly benefit from installing either system. You could ask for a home automation installation service for their opinion on what system is perfect for your home. They will most likely advise Crestron for those with larger houses who want a truly bespoke system with lots of customizations, and similarly, they will advise you use a Savant system if you have a smaller property with less customization.

The main thing you should look for when you are looking for an installation company is their experience and if they employ their own programmers. Custom Controls fit the bill, as they have been in business since 1998 and employ their own programmers.
