<h2>La Brea Tar Pits</h2>

The La Brea Tar Pits is home to more than 100 tons of fossilized bones that represent more than 400 different types of mammals, birds, reptiles and fish. It is free the first Tuesday of each month.</p>

<p>While you might not think of nature when you think of Los Angeles, there is plenty of it right outside its borders. A short ride on the Pacific Coast Highway will take you to Topanga Canyon, which boasts more than 11,00 acres of land, 36 miles of trails and beautiful beaches—all of which can provide beautiful views of Southern California.</p>

<p>Los Angeles is a melting pot of cultures and one of the top free activities is taking them all in. Head to Koreatown for some barbeque or to take in a film with English subtitles; you can probably get some good spa treatments here too. Olvera Street can give you a taste of Mexico—listen to musicians, eat some authentic cuisine or purchase some local artwork. Head over to Chinatown and get some yummy strawberry whipped cream cakes at the Phoenix Bakery—the oldest in the area. South Fairfax Avenue—between Olympic Boulevard and Whitworth Drive—is home to little Ethiopia, where you can partake in a coffee ceremony.</p>
<p>You can find Thai Town in East Hollywood, where loads of fun awaits, such as a boxing match or folk dancing performance—this area has been referred to as Thailand’s 77<sup>th</sup> province. East Hollywood is also home to Little Armenia, where a boisterous festival takes place in late May or early June to celebrate the independence of the country.</p>
<h2>Third Street Promenade</h2>
<p>The Third Street Promenade is a great place to take a stroll and simply people-watch. You will have oodles of shops and restaurants at your disposal , and you can enjoy a car-free area.</p>
