Start 2014 In Style With A New Car

A New Year and a New Car? Well, why not?

If you have been browsing sites like Cars2Buy over the past few months, looking at the latest new car deals and longing for a new motor, well now is the ideal time to start taking your urges more seriously.

You’ve got the expense of Christmas out of the way and can start to take a more serious look at your finances. Often sticking with a tired, ineffective car can be a false economy, especially when the newest car deals  are so competitive. Another reason that makes the new year a great time to buy cars is the fact that all the major motor manufacturers have signalled their intentions for the first half of the year at least.

Here is a round-up of some of the auto options that you may want to splash out on in in 2014.

The Volkswagen e-UP

Efficiency has been – and will continue to be – one of the motoring industry’s key trends. All the big names will be offering more in the shape of electrical and low-carbon fuel models in 2014 and e-UP is Volkswagen’s take on the ultra-efficient city car.

It is similar to the bigger e-Golf in that it is an electrified version of an existing model. So the nippy and easy to drive Up will now come with zero emissions and super-low running costs, due to its 80bhp electric motor. Despite the green emphasis, you’ll find that between lights this is no slouch getting to 62mph in 12.4 seconds and has a top speed of 84mph – more than enough for running errands around town.

There is also plenty of electrics on show in the interior with standard kit including climate control air-con and sat-nav.

The Audi A5 Coupe

Since its launch in 2008, the Audi A5 Coupe has become a firm favourite with motoring enthusiasts. This latest edition adds an extra nine horses and an array of extra trimmings to choose from.

A Black Optic package will come complete with new 19-inch Titanium Rotor wheels, something that will turn a few heads wherever the car goes.

The New Land Rover Range Rover

The 4-wheel drive favourite is back and this time it delivers. There’ll be four trim levels – the HSE, which has a V6 diesel engine; the Vogue, which can have both the V6 or V8 diesel engines, and the Vogue SE and top-of-the-range Autobiography, where the superchargers can be found.

If you have the budget, you’ll find you do get a lot of car for your money, with rear seat recline/fold mechanisms, soft-closing doors, two-piece tailgate, 18 interior configurations and DVD players just some of the toys you can play with on board.

The BMW 2 Series Coupe

On sale from March and replacing the popular BMW 1 Series Coupe, the 2 Series has a lot to live up to, but rest assured it will. It is being pitched to go wheel nut to wheel nut with the likes of the Audi TT and Peugeot RCZ, so expect a sporty driving experience.
