They are disguised by notions of being healthy and they hide behind titles like ‘healthy’ ‘organic’ and more. If any of these foods are on your dieting regime, consider either substituting the food or monitoring your consumption.

Hold on to this thought while you embrace the upcoming list, ‘not everything is perfect, and there is always a satisfying alternative available.

If you’re considering speaking with a weight loss or dieting specialist to really find out if you are on the proper diet, you’re on the right track! Here’s a jump start list that will hopefully shock you into wanting to know more!

Fruit and Veggie Chips

Chips are so good, but two types are so bad for losing weight, they actually ensure weight gain! When it comes to banana chips, your thinking fruits are the best way to go. Well dry fruits are different. Because the fruit is dried it has 3 times more calories, but more importantly, banana chips specifically contain 20 percent more fat. Banana chips are typically deep friend, and we know to stay away from the fried foods, a 1-ounce handful of banana chips pack 10 grams of fat.

Veggie chips are another danger! When you think veggie, think healthy, but do not confuse that with non-fattening. Veggie chips contain almost 150 calories and 9 to 10 grams of fat per handful. So be careful in the veggie aisle as well.

Low-Fat Muffins and Baked Goods

It’s not uncommon that we find ourselves in a haven of sweets. But a few of those delicious snacks have little secrets. Muffins are a great source for calories as well as fat. A medium sized blueberry muffin may contain 20 to 25 grams of fat. A cookie can contain 9 grams of fat, although they are very popular, sugar-free cookies particularly may contain sorbitol which can cause bloating as well, which I am sure is completely unwelcome.

Yogurt

Mixing it up with nuts or yogurt can be a danger it itself as well. A cup of mixed or dry roasted nuts can contain up to 70 or more grams of fat and a ton of calories. Yogurt mixed with fruit, or granola, and that special ingredient ‘whole milk’ is high in calories from saturated fat.

When in doubt, follow a weight loss plan such as the plans seen here.  Always remember that some foods that are fattening substantially or in the least bit may not be as fattening for you as it would be to someone else. It comes down to your eating diet, how many times per day that you consume these foods, before they take effect on your body. It’s encouraged to always have a second opinion or consults on your own eating habits if weight loss or gains are concerns when choosing foods. Constantly educating yourself on how foods can be fattening and the different foods to be aware of is the best thing you can do to ensure that you keep to a non-fattening lifestyle.
