A cathedral that can be found in Livorno, this is the oldest church in town and is home to some of Tuscany’s most breath taking paintings and sculptures. Among its treasures is a sixteenth century wooden cruxifix.

Church of San Paolo

For fans of gothic architecture, an interesting stop is the Church of San Paolo. Built in the twelfth century, this church underwent a renovation during the Baroque period, where altars and confessionals were added to the interior. In the year 1800 it underwent  another makeover, this time all but three altars were removed from the design in order that current Neo-Gothic architectural trends were accommodated.

Carmine Church

A work from 1675, this cathedral is located in Loris Giorgi and is a church worth visiting. It is the place where the famous painting, Madonna and Child can be found.

Church of Spirito Santo

Located in Pistoia, the Church of Spirito Santo is known for its solid facade, which is very typical of seventeenth century architectural works. The painter Dandini has one of his paintings here.
