Sometimes, keeping the spark in your love life can be difficult. Couples who’ve been together for a while can definitely sympathise with the relationship becoming a bit less spicy and more comfortable. Sometimes the same old bedroom routine can really take the spark out of things…especially if you’ve got children who don’t know the meaning of bedtime! Those times generally get replaced by work obligations or fatigue after a hard day. So sit down and think back to the early days and have a think about what you used to do. Maybe you loved going to the beach or enjoyed going to the cinema. Make time to do those things again so you can relive the spark you had when you were a new couple. There’s a reason you got together in the first place – rediscover it!
3. Try Some Challenging Activities Together
Doing challenging activities together and relying on each other is a great way to bring the spark back into your relationship. It really makes you appreciate your other half when you’re relying on them for a helping hand (or much needed leg-up!).Try rafting, rock-climbing, surfing…anything to push you both out of your comfort zone.
Next time you’re planning a date night or have a free weekend, why not try an activity that’s new to the both of you or that challenges your comfort levels? For example, you could try kayaking or canoeing in the same boat so you have to work together to get somewhere. Or you could go for a semi-difficult hike – anything where you need to work together and support each other. It may be hard at the time, but it’s extremely satisfying once you’ve completed the activity! Plus, you’ll have a renewed trust and appreciation for your other half.
